Taskfair hopes Blockchain can Disrupt Home Services

The team behind the services-on-demand platform Taskfair hopes that small repairs and housework will be as lucrative for it as rides have been for Uber and Lyft.

The plan at Taskfair is to create a blockchain-based peer-to-peer (P2P) platform; which will serve as a go-to place for hiring handymen, gardeners, and house cleaners. The groundwork for Taskfair’s platform is being laid with a Token Generation Event, of its TFT Token – which is scheduled to start January 3, 2018.

“We want to eliminate middlemen in-home services and encourage everyone to adapt to the blockchain technology,” Taskfair cofounder and CEO Pavel Popov said. The idea is to connect contractors and service providers directly with customers.

Taskfair Plans to Revolutionize Gig Economy

Taskfair hopes to achieve that goal by using its Taskfair Dapp to revolutionize the Gig Economy.

A Dapp is a decentralized application that operates on the Ethereum blockchain. The Taskfair Dapp uses blockchain technology to help homeowners find and hire home improvement specialists; handymen, and other contractors on a decentralized platform.

The potential benefits include minimal transaction costs, a Taskfair press release states. Another goal of the campaign is to get real people in the real world to start using blockchain-based apps on a regular basis.

To get as many people as possible to use its product, Taskfair plans to make the Dapp free during the “initial development and user pool growth stage.” Later on, it will monetize the process by charging a 5% fee, on each transaction made through the Taskfair platform.

Ethereum-Based Token will power plan to Revolutionize Gig Economy

“Ultimately, we will be providing a mass market, breakthrough P2P product that can completely redefine the home service industry,” Popov said of his company’s plans.

The financing for that effort is supposed to be raised by Tasksfiar’s presale; which is scheduled to run from December 10 to December 31, 2017. The TFTs are supposed to be worth 10¢ but people who participate in the presale will receive a 30% to 40% discount.

The presale will be followed by the Token Generation Event, scheduled to begin on January 3, 2018. The goal of the Event is to raise $1 million worth of the Ethereum-based TFT tokens. During the Event, TFT Tokens will be sold through Taskfair’s website and through decentralized exchanges, such as EtherDelta.

Once Taskfair completes its initial development stage the TFT Tokens will be made available for trading. Taskfair calculated that the Tokens can achieve a $26 million gross token transaction volume within 12 months.

“The funds that we will raise will help us launch an aggressive, full-blown marketing campaign, and attract users from both the crypto world and the general home services market,” Popov said of the Token Generation.

Those promotion efforts include a social-media bounty program; in which participants will receive TFT Tokens for using, or recommending, Taskfair. The hope is that recipients will use the Tokens to pay for Taskfair services, or sell them and raise the token’s value.

Taskfair plans to test its technology in 10 U.S. cities, before rolling the app out in 24 markets around the world. The ultimate goal is the creation of a global decentralized peer-to-peer (P2P) platform for on-demand services.
