History teaches us that Trump impeachment will benefit Democrats politically. For example, the 1999 impeachment of President Bill Clinton (D-Arkansas) helped Republicans.

A Trump impeachment will help the Radical Left takeover the Democratic Party. Pointedly, Far Left ideas like the Jobs Guarantee, Medicare for All, and Basic Income are becoming Democratic dogma.
Even if it fails a Trump impeachment will strengthen the Democratic Party and the Left. For instance, impeachment will ignite all out partisan political warfare, an environment that favors aggressive radicals.
Trump Impeachment can Turn Democrats into Republicans
Consequently, the most likely outcome of Trump impeachment will be to make the Democratic Party more like the GOP.
To explain the GOP is an organization dominated by a radical minority dedicated to imposing its rigid ideological conformity on everyone. The difference will be that radical Democrats will force extreme progressivism on America instead of radical neoliberalism.
Such a Democratic Party will succeed, because it will be well-suited to the modern American political environment. For example, such a party will nominate and support popular but flawed candidates like Donald J. Trump (R-New York).
Moreover, such a party will do whatever it takes to win elections. In particular, Republicans are allegedly engaging in widespread voter suppression. Thus, Democrats; who are griping about voter suppression now, will suppress Republican votes in a few years.
Therefore, Republicans themselves probably made Trump impeachment inevitable through success. At the end of the day, success trumps ideology and ethics in politics.
A Trump Impeachment is a Terrible Idea
I oppose a Trump impeachment because it is unwarranted. To clarify, much of President Trump’s behavior is loathsome, but he has done nothing illegal.
Moreover, impeaching Trump will turn him into a hero and an underdog. Instead, of destroying the man impeachment will enhance his reputation.
Conversely, Democrat leaders do not want to destroy Trump. They want the Donald around to serve as a boogie man to anger and energize their base and attract votes.
A defeated Donald skulking in the Trump Tower will not help the Democrats. Trump on the campaign trail generating a storm of offensive Tweets, drives Democrats to the polls.
The way to destroy Trump is to defeat him soundly at the ballot box in 2020. Something that will be easy to do, remember Trump lost the popular vote in 2016 and won the Electoral College vote by a narrow margin.
There is no need for a Trump impeachment but Democrats will try it if they win control of the House of Representatives in November. Democrats will vote to impeach Trump because it will help them in future elections.
That is why Democrats will attempt an impeachment even if Republicans control the Senate. Remember, the Clinton impeachment failed but still helped Republicans. The Democrats want political theater not Trump removal.

The Democrats will try to impeach Trump; and probably U.S. Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh, to embolden their base.
Trump and Kavanaugh impeachments are inevitable because Democrats need a political circus to stir up their base. Since a presidential impeachment is the best political circus possible, a Trump impeachment is probable in 2019.
At the end of the day, American politics is a blood sport, and the mob wants blood. Notably, the blood the Democratic mob wants is that of Donald J. Trump. The party leaders will suppress their qualms and supply that blood if it generates votes.
History shows impeachment worked once, so Democrats will try it again.
