Which Credit Card Gives You the Most Entertainment Benefits?

The high price of entertainment can pay off for you if you use the right credit card to cover the cost of the fun. Savvy people can rack up large amounts of rewards points if they bring the right plastic to the party.

The good news is that there are now cards that reward you for almost any leisure activity on the market today. The difficulty is determining which card will give you the most points for your favorite fun. That means taking your time and doing some extra research can help you get a lot more rewards.

To get you started, here’s a rundown of some of the best entertainment cards on the market that you can use on everything from airline tickets to online casino games in Australia. Some of the credit cards with the most entertainment benefits include:

  • The Citi Thank You Preferred Card. Available to American customers, this card pays two Thank You Points for each dollar spent on entertainment or eating out. It also pays one Thank You Point for each dollar you spend everywhere else. Cardholders that collect up to 20,000 points can get the Citi Private Pass feature that offers access to exclusive events. Holders can also redeem 20,000 Thank You Points for up to $200 in gift cards and other rewards. To add icing to the cake, there’s no annual fee.

  • Big spenders down under in Australia should check out the NAB Velocity Rewards Premium Card. If you spend more than $60,000 a year on it, you can receive up to $1,415 in rewards that include airline tickets.

  • The Citi Prestige Card could be the best plastic for those who like to travel for fun because of all the travel insurance included. It offers up to $3,000 in lost luggage protection per trip, up to $5,000 a year in trip cancellation insurance, and up to $500,000 in travel accident insurance if you use your card to pay for the trip. This makes travel more fun by adding peace of mind when you leave home.

  • The Chase Sapphire Preferred card offers two reward points for every dollar spent on dining and travel. It also offers one reward point for every dollar spent on anything else. These points are good because they’re worth around 1¢ apiece. The big advantage to this card, though, is that the point value goes up by 25%, to 2.5¢, if you use the Sapphire Preferred to pay for travel through Chase Ultimate Rewards. A really fun perk about this card is that bars and fast food places are usually coded as restaurants by credit card companies; that means you can get 25% more rewards if you use it to pay for beer or burgers. Another great perk is that the Sapphire Preferred charges no foreign transaction fees.

Using the right credit card at the gas station, at the supermarket, and even when playing online casino games in Australia can help you make your entertainment dollars go a lot further.
