Why Aren’t the Presidential Candidates Talking about Global Warming?

We need to condemn both President Donald J. Trump Sr. (R-Florida) and his opponent Joe Biden (D-Delaware) for ignoring Global Warming.

In 2020, fires have burned 2.095 million acres; an area over 10 times the size of New York City, CNN claims. “This is crazy,” CAL FIRE Captain Richard Cordova tells CNN. “We haven’t even got into the October and November fire season, and we’ve broken the all-time record.”

The Creek Fire injured 20 people on 6 September 2020, Madera County Sheriff Tyson Pogue estimates. In addition, authorities had to rescue 224 people from the Monmouth Pool Reservoir after the Creek Fire blocked a road.

Global Warming turns Ordinary Americans’ Recreation into Hell on Earth

“The situation only can be described as just hellish conditions out there for those poor people,” Pogue tells CNN. Hence, fires scientists blame on global warming turn ordinary Americans’ recreation grounds into hell on earth.

For example, video Juliana Park posted on Twitter describes a frightening drive through an inferno of burning trees and flames. Park had to drive through the inferno after the Creek Fire, interrupted her hike.

We can expect more fires because of extreme heat and record-breaking temperatures over the Labor Day weekend. California is so hot Governor Gavin Newsom (D-San Francisco) declared a state of emergency to prevent power outages. Meanwhile, the Los Angeles National Weather Service office warns of “rare, dangerous, very possible deadly” heat in South California. That heat could include temperatures of up to 110 degrees Fahrenheit (43.333 degrees Celsius).

Biden and Trump talk nonsense instead of Global Warming

So what are our political leaders talking about instead of global warming making life hell for ordinary Americans? A possibly imaginary “scandal;” in which President Donald J. Trump Sr. (R-Florida) allegedly insulted US Marines who died over 100 years ago.

The Atlantic alleges Trump called U.S. Marines; buried at the Aisne-Marne American Cemetery near Paris, “losers,” in 2018. The Marines were killed in the World War I battle of Belleau Wood in June 1918. Trump; who was attending celebrations of the 100th Anniversary of the end of World War I, dropped a trip to the Cemetery from his itinerary.

Worst of all, The Atlantic presents no evidence Trump made the claims. Instead, the article cites anonymous sources, a sure sign somebody is making this up.

However, the media covered the story extensively and conveniently forgot to mention Trump’s comments involved World War I casualties. Thus, a two-year-old story about dubious comments about a conflict that ended over a century ago is “news.” However, ordinary Americans almost dying because of an unfolding catastrophe is not “news.”

Worse, Joe Biden (D-Delaware); who refuses to mention the crisis in California, quickly held a press conference to condemn Trump’s “disrespect of fallen heroes.” That’s a sure sign Biden; or his handlers had advance knowledge of the “news coverage.”

Climate Change Denial will lead to Catastrophe

Trump’s climate change denial is horrendous, but Biden’s silence is worse. I consider Biden’s hypocritical silence another form of Climate Change Denial.

Our leaders’ and media’s refusal to discuss another catastrophe, Coronavirus, has already led to violence, chaos, and insanity in our streets. For example, protesters are shooting each other, police are shooting protesters, statues are being destroyed, monuments are being desecrated, stores are being burned, and even churches are being vandalized.

Given that record, I have to wonder what lunacy violence Climate Change will trigger? Will we see, the burning of oil company offices, the hanging of think tank officials, the shooting of executives? Our leaders’ hypocrisy and preference of click bait (that is all The Atlantic article is) to reality will lead to catastrophe.
