You can Send Money through PayPal with Gmail

It is now possible to send money through Alphabet’s (NASDAQ: GOOG) Gmail using PayPal and Google Pay.

Users will be able to add their PayPal (NASDAQ: PYPL) details to Google Play, YouTube, and Gmail accounts in an ongoing “deep integration,” TechCrunch reported. That means you should be able to use PayPal to pay for stuff in Google Play and YouTube.

It should also be possible to send and receive payments through Gmail with the same feature. Peer-to-Peer (P2P) payments can also be sent through Gmail using the same feature, TechCrunch claimed.

News stories did not say whether users would be able to send payments from PayPal’s super popular Venmo P2P app or Google Tez, the P2P app Alphabet (NASDAQ: GOOGL) is deploying in India through Gmail. It is also not clear if Venmo and Google Taz will be integrated with Google Play and YouTube.

Are Alphabet and PayPal building the Biggest Payment Platform on Earth?

Alphabet has rounded up some impressive partners for its payment solution including PayPal subsidiary Braintree, Stripe, Cybersource, Vantiv, Visa (NYSE: V), and MasterCard (NYSE: MA). The integration of the Google Pay and PayPal ecosystems might create the biggest payment platform on Earth.

Gmail had 1.2 billion users in July 2017, Expandedramblings noted. If just 10% of them use Google Pay – that’s 120 million customers for PayPal. Google Play is one of the world’s largest digital platforms with 3.6 million apps for sale in March 2018, Statista calculated.

YouTube had 1.57 billion users monthly users in January 2018, Omnicore estimated. Alphabet’s video service is also the “world’s biggest TV network;” around five billion people a day were watching YouTube videos in January 2018. YouTube also received 500 million mobile views a day and had 50 million people sharing videos in January 2017.

These numbers demonstrate that Alphabet and PayPal are tremendous value investments. The two companies are quietly up vast platforms. Alphabet controls the largest media platform in human history, and PayPal has direct access to it.

The Alphabet/PayPal alliance will generate vast amounts of revenue. Investors and entrepreneurs should take advantage of it now.
